Michael Vaughan
​Senior Minister

Michael Vaughan is a former military BRAT with roots in Charlotte, NC. He graduated from Johnson University (2008) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible on the “Preaching and Church Leadership” Track. He has started his graduate studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, working towards a Masters of Divinity in Christian Ministry.

He has been married to his lovely and talented wife, Amy, since 2009, and God has gifted them with 4 beautiful children: Josiah (2013), Ezra (2016), Caroline (2019), and Samuel (2021).

After more than a decade of Youth Ministry, the Lord called him to serve as Senior Minister at Lone Oak Christian Church in 2022. The Vaughans love Johnson City, and after 12 years of moving around, they believe that they have found their home in East Tennessee! Michael loves 80s and 90s heavy metal, the Carolina Panthers, backwoods camping, and anything edible! But his greatest passion (aside from being a devoted husband and father) is preaching the Gospel of God’s Salvation, by God’s Son, to God’s People, through God’s Word!

Dustin Clawson

​Youth Minister

Dustin Clawson is a life time member of Lone Oak. He has been the Youth Minister for 7 years. He graduated from Milligan College (2014) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Performance Exercise Science, with an emphasis in Physical Education. He is also the PE teacher at Lamar Elementary.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Haley, since 2016. Dustin enjoys baseball, playing the guitar, and spending time with family, especially his nephews.
