Lone Oak Christian Church is a fellowship of believers centered in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, existing to make Christ known to the world through attitudes and actions that reflect the Spirit of God at work within us.
These words appear on our Sunday bulletin each week, and they serve as a mission statement for our gathering. Much of our life, worship, and relationality is guided by these words. As a congregation associated with the Stone-Campbell/Restoration Movement, our emphasis in this gathering is a commitment to the early Church found in Acts 2. We are guided and directed by the life, ministry, and presence of Jesus Christ in the world and the Church he instituted.
Our congregation is self-governing, yet takes seriously the call of Jesus Christ for all his disciples to be one, just as the Father and Son are one (John 17:21). Christian unity shapes not just our lives internally, but our mission externally. We believe that God has begun a good work within us, and will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6).
We celebrate, in our worship each week, the Lord's Supper as a memorial of Jesus Christ's death until he comes again in glory (1 Corinthians 11:23-30).
We practice baptism by immersion as instituted by Jesus Christ.Â
One of the guiding principles of many churches in the tradition of our movement, including ours, is "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love." We'd love to have you join us as we walk in Christ's love together!
